Technical Features of the SQA-V Gold Automatic Analyzer (WHO 5th Edition):

1. Standardizes the complete reading of semen; a reading that, when performed under a microscope, is entirely subjective and incomplete.
2. For counting, the analyzer reads millions of sperm from a sample of 330 uL; under a microscope, however, only a few hundred are read from a mere 10 uL;
3. For motility, the SQA-V Gold reads tens of thousands of sperm from a sample of 20 uL; under a microscope, however, only a few hundred are read from the same 10 uL;
4. The SQA-V Gold automates an examination that others perform manually.
5. The analyzer simultaneously manages: photos to print on the patient’s report and a video of the spermiogram for both the patient and the doctor, who can compare sperm motility (after any pharmacological treatment aimed at improving motility, for example) over time with a repeat test after treatment.
6. The SQA-V gold analyzer speeds up readings, thanks to its automation, typically taking just 75 seconds, and in doubtful cases, up to 195 seconds.
7. Sperm motility is divided according to WHO 5th edition guidelines into three populations (progressive, non-progressive, and immotile). It also determines healthy morphology and 13 additional parameters.
8. When turned on, the system performs a self-calibration and a self-control test without additional reagents. It reports sperm count, morphology, and motility, all in both mil/ml and %, and 13 additional parameters. The analyzer does not require sample predilution. Only 330 microliters of sample are needed for counting and 20 microliters for motility.
9. The analyzer is managed by external software, V-Sperm. This Windows-based software is easy to use and allows for the storage of an unlimited number of reports.
